Fort Augustus
The picturesque and hospitable village of Fort
Augustus is situated at the eastern end of
Loch
Ness and boasts a fine selection of visitor
attractions, shops and bars. In the heart of the
village there is an impressive lock system that
carries boats up and down the Caledonian
Canal.
The
village has a good selection of places to

Drumnadrochit
The historic village of Drumnadrochit is only
18 miles away, where you can visit the Loch
Ness 2000 exhibition centre. The route to
Drumnadrochit takes you to Urquhart
Castle, which has stood on the shores of Loch
Ness for 800 years. If you travel on from Drumnadrochit,
the city of Inverness
is only another 11 miles.
Spean Bridge
Spean Bridge is situated between Firt Augustus
and Fort William, where the famous Commando
Memorial is sited. From Fort William a trip
to Glen
Coe is a must, if only to experience the atmosphere.
Fort William
Fort William is set at the foot of the Nevis
Range where you will find a leisure centre,
indoor ice Climbing Arena, Mountain Bike courses,
Quad Bike tracks and a wealth of shops. There
is the Gondola ride which takes you up Ben Nevis,
and when you disembark you will find a good Restaurant.
The steam
railway leaves from the railway station and
offers a wonderful trip to Mallaig. The train
travels over the Glenfinnan
Viaduct(where the filming of the Harry
Potter films took place).
Loch Ness
With more water in Loch Ness than all the rivers
and lakes in England and Wales combined, there
is plenty to see and do around Loch Ness. Take
a boat
trip and go Nessie hunting, hire a boat and
go sailing, hire a bicycle and go for an adventure
or just go for a relaxing wooded
walk along the shore.
The Highlands and Islands
Enjoy the unique and stunning scenery, which features
mountains, glens, loch, rivers and beaches, and
visit the many attractions such as castles, historic
monuments and whisky distilleries. Take part
in adventure sports ranging from mountain biking

water rafting to gentler pursuits such as
